Les prêts pour la construction d’une central au charbon de 2000 MW à Mong Duong, 20 km au nord de Halong viennent d’être accordés.

Proposed Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Project

The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has applied for loans under a Multitranche Financing Facility (MFF) from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the development of the Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Project.

The Project will

1. provide year-round stable electricity supply in northern Viet Nam to support the development of the northeast region where numerous industrial estates are established;
2. expand power generation capacity and provide reliable power supply to support Government’s efforts to accelerate poverty reduction through economic growth, employment generation and income-earning opportunities for the poor;
3. generate direct employment in the project area through construction of the Mong Duong power complex, incremental coal mining, and limestone mining activities;
4. support private sector development in the power sector by financing the required common facilities for Mong Duong 2 that would permit EVN to award the project on a stand-alone basis for private sector participatory development.
